Nautical by Nature

It is very much summer time here in Hawaii, and needless to say, going to the beach is definitely a summer staple.  Therefore, I made a trip out to the beach, but instead of swimming, I wandered about exploring the shoreline (just wasn't in a swimming mood that day).  Even though it was hot out, I managed to be perfectly comfortable in the tan jeans I wore, mostly because I paired it with a tank...so it was definitely nice and breezy.  I was going for a pretty nautical look, with the thick blue and white stripes, along with the accents of tan/camel, and tried to keep my accessories true to the look as well.  I personally love nautical elements, and it's very exciting bringing them out to use for the warmer months, so I'll definitely be making lots of use of them, especially the silver seahorse necklace I'm wearing in this look...I'm absolutely in love with it.  I'm hoping to have more summer outfits, as well as beauty things to share very soon both posted here and in videos on my YouTube channel.  All photos taken by Reisha.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - June 3, 2013

I feel like it has seriously been an entire month since I've done by nails...since I've been incredibly caught up in things and either too lazy or exhausted to do em.  Nonetheless, here's a new nail post for you all.  This time I have on Tart Deco by Essie, an electric neon coral shade, that can look quite pinky in some lighting.  I am absolutely in love with this shade, particularly since it is transitioning from spring to summer.  At first, I was a little hesitant to wear such a bright color on my nails, but I fell absolutely in love with it, and would highly recommend this shade.  I also featured this polish in my spring essentials, so you can check that out (here) if you haven't already.  Hoping to be more consistent in getting these nail posts up, so look out for more very soon.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Wood to Wear

It has surely been some time since I have put up any outfit posts here, mostly contributed to my hectic work schedule...and the fact that it has been increasingly hot, so I've been dressing breezily and comfortably recently.  Aside from that, I managed to get to get back in the swing of things in terms of busting out my wardrobe elements for the spring transitioning into summer.  For this look, I used an old chambray shirt that I removed the sleeves from, and paired it with some corduroy jodhpurs along with my wooden printed Litas by Jeffrey Campbell, which matches my Givenchy Pandora wallet perfectly.  I tried to portray a washed out kind of look, sticking with the hues of blue, beige, and tan, while also complimenting them subtly with silver accessories.  Even though it has been getting hot, this look wears comfortably since it is sleeveless and can easily be paired with shorts for a prolonged day out.  All photos taken by Zeric Villanueva.  =]

Mini for Me

Being that it was my birthday this past Saturday, I wanted to get myself something...since I usually do that sort of thing (is that weird?).  Anyway, I didn't hesitate one bit to pick something out for myself.  This year, I wanted to get something small, that I definitely knew I would be utilizing a lot.  I put a lot of thought into it, and finally came to the conclusion that I wanted to get the Louis Vuitton mini pochette in the Damier Ebene print.  Therefore, a few days before my birthday, I stopped by at the Louis Vuitton store at Ala Moana center to pick up my birthday gift to myself.  Needless to say, I fell instantly in love with it, and have been using it nearly every day since.  I got the mini pochette particularly to use as a mini clutch or wristlet type of bag, that would be handy for running errands and such (so I don't have to lug around my incredibly heavy Alexander Wang Rocco bag).  It is the perfect size to fit all my essentials, even though I feel like I don't have EVERYTHING with me...like I usually do.  Below are varied shots of the mini pochette, as well as all of the packaging it came with, just to showcase all of the details.  I also filmed an unboxing video on my YouTube channel, which should be up within the next couple of days, so be sure to check that out as well.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Floral Frenzy

It has definitely been a while since I've posted an outfit post here, so I sure hope to get back on it in terms of consistently getting these up.  I feel like this year was the first time I really embraced the bright colored aspect of spring as far as my wardrobe goes, and this outfit definitely expresses this.  I fell absolutely in love with the sweatshirt in the First Date print that came out in the Prabal Gurung for Target collection that came out around March (which I did a haul post and video of nearly a month ago).  After picking up this piece, I knew it would end up being one of my staple pieces during the spring, so I made it a point to wear it before the season was over.  So far, I wore this outfit at least a couple times, and even though it is a sweatshirt the fact that I paired it with shorts made it bearable in the heat.  I'm hoping to get more spring related outfit, beauty, and accessory posts out sometime soon, so definitely keep an eye out for that, as well as related videos on my YouTube channel.  All photos taken by Zeric Villanueva.  =]

I know it looks like my eyes are closed, but I'm just looking down...damn my Asian eyes.

Mani(c) Monday - April 29, 2013

Been away from posting on my blog in general lately, which therefore means I haven't been consistent in putting up my nail posts on a weekly basis.  However, here is a much belated Mani(c) Monday post of one of my favorite nail colors I've worn through this spring season.  This time around, I wore New Money by L'Oreal, a buttery creamy lime chartreuse shade that I've totally been obsessed with recently.  I found that it looked particularly looked nice with my nails at a longer length, although I was only able to wear it on my nails for a short period of time.  I also mentioned this polish as one of my spring essentials on my YouTube channel, so you can check that out (here) if you haven't already.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - April 15, 2013 (Late Post)

I really need to get back in the habit of posting these in a timely manner...and consistently.  But anyway, this is what I wore on my nails a couple weeks ago when I had a few consecutive days off from work, which explains why I was able to rock such a daring shade (for me anyway).  I really wanted to embrace the elements of spring, and wore this polish by Circus by Andrea's Choice, a brand of polish I have never tried before.  This polish shade is called Somersault, a warm creamy buttercup yellow shade that greatly contrasts the tan of my skin, so it is definitely one that particularly stands out on my nails.  Although I was only able to wear this polish on my nails for a few days, I really liked the smoothness of it, and was remarkably opaque for a light nail polish shade.  I'm not entirely sure where to go about finding other nail polishes from this line, as my cousin gave this one to me, but I believe you can order them from the Circus by Andrea's Choice website.  All photos taken by me.  =]
