Mani(c) Monday - June 2, 2014

Oh hey there.  My has it been seemingly forever since I've posted anything on my blog...especially a nail post.  Well, I'm not gonna bore you with a lame ramble of excuses as to why I haven't been consistently posting, so on to the post.  This time around I'm wearing Coat Azure by Essie, a gorgeous mid toned sky blue shade with subtle silver shimmer running through it.  Coat Azure happens to be one of my absolute favorite blue shades in my nail polish collection, and I find it very ideal to wear now since we are approaching summer time.  It's been a while since I've strayed away from the neutral nail polishes and went for something a bit bright, so here are one of those rare instances.  Hoping to go for more bright colors in weeks to come, but we shall see.  I've yet to paint my nails white, but I'm a bit hesitant to do that, even though I own a white polish (Alpine Snow by OPI).  Let me know if you think I should paint my nails white next.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - April 14, 2014

It is absolutely pitiful how this will only be the second nail post I'm putting up this year thus far.  So it's a bit needless to say, that I need to take and post my nail photos at least once a week, which is how often I change my color anyway.  Nonetheless, the color I'm wearing in this post is Dulce De Leche by OPI, a gorgeous nude pink shade, that shows up a bit mauve and tan in different lighting.  I can't say enough how glad I am that this shade is in my nail polish collection, and it has quickly become among my absolute favorites, that I know I can wear anytime throughout the year.  Calling it "the ideal pink-toned nude nail polish" seems very fitting, and I really believe that it would look flattering on any skin tone.  Springtime is here, and I need to start busting out my colorful shades, to keep from boring you with all my neutral polishes.  I'd love to know what polishes you all are currently wearing, so let me know down in the comments.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - February 10, 2014 (Late Post)

Hey all!  It is already February, and this is the first nail post I am putting up.  Needless to say, I have beyond neglected to post these on a regular basis.  I am so bad at being a blogger that posts consistently, especially since I devised an actual schedule that I aimed to stick to.  Honestly, I feel bad that I haven't been posting, even though I have loads of content just sitting in folders on my desktop, just waiting to be edited and seen by the world.

Anyways, this time around I'm wearing My Private Jet by OPI, a deep cocoa brown shade with holographic glitter running through it.  This shade has been available for a while now, and has been a favorite to many, although I have seen posts on other blogs showing how the formulation of it has changed.  Regardless, I find it to be a very flattering shade on my nails, and I'm glad I got it.  Being that spring is nearing, I'm gonna attempt to bring out my more colorful polishes, even though I'm not hugely fond of them.  I'd like to know what shades of nail polish you all are loving at the moment, so let me know down in the comments.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - November 4, 2013 (Late Post)

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've posted anything here...and I really shouldn't have an excuse for not posting my nail posts at the very least since I have been consistent in taking them as I've changed out my polish.  I feel like I'm always having to start my posts with an explanation or a rant of excuses, which is largely my own causing in the first place, due to my lack of involvement in actively posting.  All I can do is say that I will post when I am good and ready to do so...not gonna make any more promises regarding that.

Anyway, back to the post...

What I have on my nails this time around is a combo of Blank Slate by Sonia Kashuk as the base color, and Clearly Spotted by Maybelline over as a sort of glitter top coat.  I am infectiously in love with this nail combination, mostly because it looks as though I have taken the time to do a splatter effect nail art detail to my nails, even though it is just glitter.  I love the cool undertone of the grey in the Black Slate shade by Sonia Kashuk, that beautifully compliments the multi sized and faceted glitter in the Clearly Spotted glitter top coat by Maybelline to create a stunning monochromatic look.  I think I will definitely be experimenting with this glitter top coat with other shades and finishes as the base color to be worn though the fall and winter season.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - September 16, 2013 (Late Post)

Better late than never, right?  Nonetheless, I hope y'all can forgive me for yet another late nail post.  I'm getting the impression that I should just rename it so that I would be able to post it on another day...but that would just prolong my laziness.  Therefore, I will try my very best to get these posts up on time ALL the time (fingers crossed).  But aside from all that mess of excuses, back to the nail post.  Here I am wearing Fly by OPI, a beautiful turquoise teal shade that absolutely exudes the essence of summertime.  I figured since there are a couple of weeks left this summer, I can manage to still incorporate some of the elements of it into my wardrobe before completely immersing myself in the beauty that is fall.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - September 2, 2013 (Late Post)

So so so very sorry for yet another late nail post, and for the fact that I haven't been posting anything for over a month it seems.  I have made it a point to be more adamant about posting on a consistent and regular basis, so check out my tentative posting schedule here if you're interested in seeing what I'll be putting out there, or if you have any suggestions regarding my posts.  Aside from all that jabber, back to the polish I'm wearing in this post.  This time, I'm wearing Not Like The Movies by OPI, that came out with the Katy Perry collection a couple years ago.  It is an iridescent polish that reflects purple, green, and a bit gunmetal depending on how the light hits it.  I have absolutely been in love with this polish especially since fall is approaching, and this color is really trending at the moment.  Fall is one of my favorite seasons in terms of wardrobe elements, as well as nail polish shades, so I'll definitely be trying to put up posts related to these things.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Colorful Kid

Me oh my, it has been such a long while since I've posted an outfit post here, which I definitely need to work on being more consistent in doing.  Anywho, summer is dwindling down and fall is becoming very present in the clothing options that are available in stores, even though it's pretty much summer all year around here in Hawaii.  Nonetheless, I've been trying my very best to utilize the brighter options I have in my summer wardrobe as I eagerly await all the gorgeous wardrobe elements of fall.  In this look, I really wanted to form the basis of the entire outfit on both the colorful nature of the shirt, and the transparent quality of the clutch (outfit details in the photo captions below).  I'm honestly one who is not all that daring when it comes to striking colors, but I have somehow managed to find ways to meld it into my existing wardrobe through the course of this summer.  I know fall is just around the corner, but I wanna squeeze a few more summer looks in before then.  All outfit photos taken by Reisha Sakauye, accessory detail shots taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - July 29, 2013

I'm disappointed by the fact that I haven't been keeping up with posting these...but what can I say, I was busy.  Anyway, here's another summer color that I've worn recently that I have been incredibly in love with.  This time I wore Coy Coral by CoverGirl, a generally toned down coral shade that is on the deeper end of the color spectrum, which is noticeably darker than Tart Deco by Essie that I did a post on over a month ago.  This is the first time I've tried out the CoverGirl line of polishes, and I have to say I am very impressed with the overall quality and how opaque they are, so I'll definitely look into picking up more of the color varieties in the near future.  Since summer is kinda winding down, I'm gonna make a conscious effort to utilize my summer polish shades.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Bit of Bright

Been so caught up in being busy lately, so I haven't been too active in posting outfits here.  However, after this week I should have a bit more time freed up to post on a more frequent basis *fingers crossed*.  Anyway, I have been very captured by the elements and trends of the summer, and have been trying to utilize them as best as I can with my personal style.  In this outfit, I'm pairing my black and white striped tee with a black pair of shorts, though I used accessories such as my bright socks, bag, and bracelet to add an electric pop of color to the look.  I'm not typically one to gravitate towards bright colors, but I've been incredibly attracted to them recently.  Hopefully I'll be able to post more colorful summer outfits before the season is through.  All photos taken by Zeric Villanueva.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - July 8, 2013

It's been such a long time since I've posted one of these...and I honestly have no excuse but outright neglect.  Nonetheless, here is the last shade I had on my nails, a bit seasonally appropriate though generally toned down.  This time, I was wearing I Don't Give A Rotterdam! by OPI, a bluish grey shade with silver glitter running through it.  I find it to be the most subtle blue polish in my collection, but I find that it wears beautifully, and is very easy to pair with summer outfits.  I really wanna dip into my bright shades for summer, but they'll have to wait for days when I'm not working.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - June 3, 2013

I feel like it has seriously been an entire month since I've done by nails...since I've been incredibly caught up in things and either too lazy or exhausted to do em.  Nonetheless, here's a new nail post for you all.  This time I have on Tart Deco by Essie, an electric neon coral shade, that can look quite pinky in some lighting.  I am absolutely in love with this shade, particularly since it is transitioning from spring to summer.  At first, I was a little hesitant to wear such a bright color on my nails, but I fell absolutely in love with it, and would highly recommend this shade.  I also featured this polish in my spring essentials, so you can check that out (here) if you haven't already.  Hoping to be more consistent in getting these nail posts up, so look out for more very soon.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - April 29, 2013

Been away from posting on my blog in general lately, which therefore means I haven't been consistent in putting up my nail posts on a weekly basis.  However, here is a much belated Mani(c) Monday post of one of my favorite nail colors I've worn through this spring season.  This time around, I wore New Money by L'Oreal, a buttery creamy lime chartreuse shade that I've totally been obsessed with recently.  I found that it looked particularly looked nice with my nails at a longer length, although I was only able to wear it on my nails for a short period of time.  I also mentioned this polish as one of my spring essentials on my YouTube channel, so you can check that out (here) if you haven't already.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - April 15, 2013 (Late Post)

I really need to get back in the habit of posting these in a timely manner...and consistently.  But anyway, this is what I wore on my nails a couple weeks ago when I had a few consecutive days off from work, which explains why I was able to rock such a daring shade (for me anyway).  I really wanted to embrace the elements of spring, and wore this polish by Circus by Andrea's Choice, a brand of polish I have never tried before.  This polish shade is called Somersault, a warm creamy buttercup yellow shade that greatly contrasts the tan of my skin, so it is definitely one that particularly stands out on my nails.  Although I was only able to wear this polish on my nails for a few days, I really liked the smoothness of it, and was remarkably opaque for a light nail polish shade.  I'm not entirely sure where to go about finding other nail polishes from this line, as my cousin gave this one to me, but I believe you can order them from the Circus by Andrea's Choice website.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - March 25, 2013 (Late Post #2)

I know I was supposed to post this up a couple days ago, but got a little sidetracked from doing so.  Regardless, this is what I had on my nails over this past week, yet another neutral color although it is one of my faves.  This time I'm wearing DS Classic by OPI, a holographic sandy beige shade that looks flattering throughout the year on a variety of skin tones.  DS Classic by OPI happens to be one of my most used polishes, and is one that I will definitely repurchase due to its wearability and flattering appeal.  I typically recommend this nail polish shade to people who are looking for a generally flattering  shade that has a bit of pizazz to it, although it does seem to be quite conservative.  I'm sure you wouldn't be able to tell from my picture, but this polish picks up the light beautifully when hit by sunlight due to the holographic qualities.  I have a string of days off in the upcoming week, so you'll have to see how daring I'll be in my polish choices.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - March 25, 2013 (Late Post #1)

I've been very negligent in terms of being consistent in posting my Mani(c) Monday nail posts, so this week I'll have two separate posts up.  One will be going up today, and there will be another one going up tomorrow, so be sure to keep an eye out for the other one.  In this post, I am wearing San Tan-Tonio by OPI, a mid tone toffee brown shade that seems to almost blend into my skin color.  The color definitely shows up lighter on my nails than it does in the bottle, but that actually works in my favor in terms of suiting my skin tone.  I tend to gravitate towards using this shade during the warmer months since it seems to blend in with the elements of the spring and summer seasons, particularly when I've gotten a bit deeper complected.  I really wanna dive into my selection of blue and minty shades for spring, but we'll have to see what I can get away with for work...so for now, there will be more neutrals like this.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - March 4, 2013

I know I skipped over a week, but in all honesty I wore the same color on my nails through that time...aaaaand, for once my post is on time.  Well, kinda (being that it is towards the end of Monday).  Nonetheless, this week I'm sporting yet another neutral color...mostly because I have to due to my work dress code.  What I have on my nails is Sand Tropez by Essie, a pale sandy beige shade dark enough not to look white-ish on my nails.  I am working on changing up my nails a bit, so that I can get more color variation in there (especially for the warmer months, but I'm gonna have to convince my managers that some of them are as neutral as I think).  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - February 18, 2013 (Late Post)

I know, I know, I know...yet again another post meant for Monday going up a couple days later.  I should really be thinking of a new name for these posts.  Anyway, this week I have on Da Bush by Essie, a creamy pastel khaki green with a hint of grey, but it all depends on the lighting you're viewing it in.  I actually got this shade on clearance at TJMaxx for $3, so it was totally worth trying out, and I definitely did not have a shade quite like this in my arsenal before picking this one up.  The neutrality of this shade is pretty versatile, and I can see it being ideal for the spring/summer.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - February 11, 2012 (Late Post)

Late once again posting this up...but in my defense, I didn't do my nails until last night.  Anyway, I've been really into trying out lots of drugstore polishes lately since I haven't paid much attention to them over the years, mostly out of fear that they would lack in quality.  Nonetheless, I picked up the Revlon ColorStay nail polish in the shade Provence, a pale grey toned lavender shade perfect for the transition into spring.  I'm not usually all that fond of shades that are in the pastel color scheme, but this one has a chic quality about it that makes it quite the exception.  All photos taken by me.  =]

Mani(c) Monday - February 4, 2013 (Late Post)

I've been thinking about it, and I came to the realization that I change up my nail color at least once a week, so I figured I would try to document that and post up what is currently on my nails every Monday.  I decided to play off the phrase "Manic Monday" and make it "Mani(c) Monday," for the sake of these manicure posts.  This week, I'm rocking Farah by Zoya, a mid-tone pale sandy beige color, that I'm totally obsessed with.  I'm a huge fan on neutral nail shades, and this one definitely goes with everything I've been wearing recently.  All photos taken by me.  =]
